"When I first met Karen about 20 years ago, I had no idea how much I needed her. I was young, healthy, and athletic; and still I was completely detached from my body. After the first session, I remember looking in the mirror and saying to myself “Is that where my shoulders are supposed to be?” I had been walking around with my shoulders up to my ears and now they where down and relaxed. "Karen gifted me a massage one Christmas, and after the treatment, I was curious to know more as this was different than any body-work I had experienced. A couple of weeks later, while hanging Christmas lights, I pulled a muscle in my conducting arm and was in a fair amount of pain. I went to see Karen and she traced the problem to tightness in my jaw, which had traveled down my arm, causing some muscle atrophy. In a short while, the problem was resolved. I then decided to follow her recommended course of ten structural sessions. Each one addressed a different part of the body. As a result of this initial treatment and continued work, my body has been reinvented. I have more of a waistline; I have more freedom in my diaphragm (I’m a singer), and more mobility in general particularly in the neck and sacrum area. I now have flexibility and motion in my right foot that has a large bunion. Before going to Karen, I could barely move my big toe. Following her craniosacral work, I experienced an increase of resonance in both my speaking and singing voice. I actually adapted some of her body alignment techniques to my vocal studio teaching regimen.
At her recommendation, I enrolled in her ten sessions of MLD (manual lymphatic drainage). A few months later, after a difficult personal loss, I began to have digestive issues from the stress of the loss. The preliminary MLD work facilitated improvement with my digestion.
